Season 2
Ratings:
2x1 Little Green Men***
On a tip from Sen. Richard Matheson, Mulder's advocate on Capitol Hill, the FBI agent journeys to a SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) in Puerto Rico, which may have recorded evidence of alien contact. Though they are no longer working together, Scully follows Mulder to the SETI site, where her former partner may have made contact with an alien. Though it can't quite hold it's own against later mythology episodes like "Nisei" and "Colony", "Little Green Men" builds nicely on the sense of dread and paranoia generated by the first seasons finaleand demonstrates a new level of trust in Mulder and Scully's relationship.
2x2 The Host****
It's surpriseing that Flukeman pajamas and Happy Meals haven't sprung up yet considering how popular this sewer-dwelling charector has become with X-Philes. "Flukie," a sort of monster worm spawned by the radiation eminating from Chernobyl, meets up with Mulder and Scully when the parasitical creature wanders into the grungy tunnels beneath Newark, N.J., and starts attacking people. It's a strait ahead maonster-of-the-week story, but the Fluke is a memorable mutant and the creepy romp through the sewers is diverting.
